Reviews
1. Please confirm the applicable scope of the pass. Some attractions, such as the Miyajima ferry, require an additional tax. 2. If you have enough stamina, this is definitely an excellent choice for a San'in-Sanyo trip, as you can reserve seats an unlimited number of times (the machine can only reserve same-day seats and only 6 times). Therefore, it is recommended to plan your travel itinerary and have the service center staff assist you with booking all transportation for the current day and beyond, which will save a lot of time. 3. It is advisable to learn how to take local buses, as transportation in some Sanyo areas is not well-developed and requires a combination of luggage storage and buses. 4. If you have large luggage, be sure to store it or drop it off at your hotel first to avoid being refused boarding or delaying others. 5. Stamina is key to making the most of this pass. Wishing everyone good health and a pleasant trip!
Sanyo Sanin pass was very great and easy to use when traveling in Kanto region. we have used it on our travels all the way from Hiroshima, Himeji and Kobe. Highly recommended it for people who wanted to explore outside of Kyoto and Osaka. Shinkansen was very punctual (unless there are unfortunate events and bad weather conditions). It offered unlimited travel on JR trains, including the shinkansen (except Nozomi/Mizuho), which made moving between cities like Hiroshima, Okayama, and Fukuoka incredibly easy and affordable. I saved a lot compared to buying individual tickets, and the convenience of just hopping on and off trains with a pass was unbeatable.
Highly recommended for those planning a trip from Osaka to Fukuoka and back. You can book the Nozomi line which is very convenient since it has the shortest travel time. If you want an idea we were able to use this pass for: Kansai Aiport to Shin Osaka, Shin Osaka to Hakata (RT), Hakata to Hiroshima (RT), Hiroshima to Miyajima Island, Shin Osaka to Himeji, Himeji to Kobe, Kobe to Osaka.
The EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan, is set to be a global celebration of innovation, culture, and sustainability. Scheduled to run from April 13 to October 13, 2025, this World Expo will bring together countries from all over the world to showcase cutting-edge technologies, address global challenges, and promote cultural exchange.
• Travelers planning to visit Hiroshima, Okayama, Fukuoka, and lesser-known areas like Tottori or Matsue. • Those making multiple Shinkansen trips between Osaka and Hakata. • Visitors wanting an alternative to the full JR Pass, but still covering a wide area. Highly recommended for those exploring western Japan beyond Kansai, especially if you plan on taking multiple Shinkansen rides. With access to Nozomi and Mizuho, plus the flexibility to visit off-the-beaten-path destinations, this pass offers incredible value for adventurous travelers.
depending on your itinerary, a jr pass is a must. i can say it' probably worth it if you go to different areas besides the the usual touristy spots. just make sure the pass you're getting covers the area that you plan to visit.
It was very easy to claim the passes at the Kansai Airport Station JR Office. Good value if you plan to go from Osaka to Fukuoka and back! We were slightly confused when picking up our other party's pass at the Hakata Station, but the JR West counter is near the Chikushi East Gate right beside the entrance, by Amu Plaza Hakata.
JR Sanyo-San'in Area Pass (7 Days) Totally recommend those who are visiting Japan to get this pass. It is really useful and easy to use. I get to travel to many places with the pass. We had a great time in Japan. Thanks for the pass!
I planned and used Osaka in Fukuoka out. I took the Haruka from Osaka Kansai Airport and went straight to Kyoto, visited Nara during the 3 nights and 4 days trip, and went to Himeji by Shinkansen. I went to Biwako Valley Umeda with a JR ticket and went to Osaka. I enjoyed it and took the Shinkansen to Fukuoka while eating Ekiben. It was a ticket that allowed me to reserve a green car, but since I was only in Japan during my trip, the green car was fully booked and difficult to use. Also, be sure to use the JR counter when canceling your reservation. It was inconvenient to do so, but I bought it before the price went up, so I was able to enjoy Japan at a lower transportation cost. I recommend it.
Totally recommend those who are visiting Japan to get this pass. It is really useful and easy to use. I get to travel many places with the pass. My family and I had a great time in Japan. Thanks for the pass!
