Review for: JR Sanyo-San'in Area Pass (7 Days)

1. Please confirm the applicable scope of the pass. Some attractions, such as the Miyajima ferry, require an additional tax. 2. If you have enough stamina, this is definitely an excellent choice for a San'in-Sanyo trip, as you can reserve seats an unlimited number of times (the machine can only reserve same-day seats and only 6 times). Therefore, it is recommended to plan your travel itinerary and have the service center staff assist you with booking all transportation for the current day and beyond, which will save a lot of time. 3. It is advisable to learn how to take local buses, as transportation in some Sanyo areas is not well-developed and requires a combination of luggage storage and buses. 4. If you have large luggage, be sure to store it or drop it off at your hotel first to avoid being refused boarding or delaying others. 5. Stamina is key to making the most of this pass. Wishing everyone good health and a pleasant trip!

Review for: JR Sanyo-San'in Area Pass (7 Days)

Sanyo Sanin pass was very great and easy to use when traveling in Kanto region. we have used it on our travels all the way from Hiroshima, Himeji and Kobe. Highly recommended it for people who wanted to explore outside of Kyoto and Osaka. Shinkansen was very punctual (unless there are unfortunate events and bad weather conditions). It offered unlimited travel on JR trains, including the shinkansen (except Nozomi/Mizuho), which made moving between cities like Hiroshima, Okayama, and Fukuoka incredibly easy and affordable. I saved a lot compared to buying individual tickets, and the convenience of just hopping on and off trains with a pass was unbeatable.

Highly recommended for those planning a trip from Osaka to Fukuoka and back. You can book the Nozomi line which is very convenient since it has the shortest travel time. If you want an idea we were able to use this pass for: Kansai Aiport to Shin Osaka, Shin Osaka to Hakata (RT), Hakata to Hiroshima (RT), Hiroshima to Miyajima Island, Shin Osaka to Himeji, Himeji to Kobe, Kobe to Osaka.

• Travelers planning to visit Hiroshima, Okayama, Fukuoka, and lesser-known areas like Tottori or Matsue. • Those making multiple Shinkansen trips between Osaka and Hakata. • Visitors wanting an alternative to the full JR Pass, but still covering a wide area. Highly recommended for those exploring western Japan beyond Kansai, especially if you plan on taking multiple Shinkansen rides. With access to Nozomi and Mizuho, plus the flexibility to visit off-the-beaten-path destinations, this pass offers incredible value for adventurous travelers.

It was very easy to claim the passes at the Kansai Airport Station JR Office. Good value if you plan to go from Osaka to Fukuoka and back! We were slightly confused when picking up our other party's pass at the Hakata Station, but the JR West counter is near the Chikushi East Gate right beside the entrance, by Amu Plaza Hakata.

Review for: JR Sanyo-San'in Area Pass (7 Days)

I planned and used Osaka in Fukuoka out. I took the Haruka from Osaka Kansai Airport and went straight to Kyoto, visited Nara during the 3 nights and 4 days trip, and went to Himeji by Shinkansen. I went to Biwako Valley Umeda with a JR ticket and went to Osaka. I enjoyed it and took the Shinkansen to Fukuoka while eating Ekiben. It was a ticket that allowed me to reserve a green car, but since I was only in Japan during my trip, the green car was fully booked and difficult to use. Also, be sure to use the JR counter when canceling your reservation. It was inconvenient to do so, but I bought it before the price went up, so I was able to enjoy Japan at a lower transportation cost. I recommend it.

FAQs

I’m confused…what’s the difference between the voucher, exchange order, and JR Pass?

The redemption process for the JR pass is complicated. Please see the definition of the following terms:

  • Klook Voucher: You receive this voucher after completing your booking on the Klook website or app. You only need this to redeem a JR Pass Exchange Order (sometimes also referred to as a voucher or MCO on other websites) at one of our Klook pick up points. If you have chosen a mail option, this will not apply to you. (Please note that this Klook voucher CANNOT be used in Japan to redeem for the actual JR Pass) (See an example of a Klook Voucher)
  • JR Pass Exchange Order (Physical Document or MCO): You will receive this at one of the Klook pick up points or by mail, depending on your checkout options. You MUST have this exchange order before leaving for Japan to exchange for the actual JR pass once you arrive. (See an example of a JR Pass Exchange Order (MCO))
  • JR Pass: This is the actual pass you will use on the transportation systems in Japan. You MUST exchange for this pass in Japan with the physical Exchange Order described above. You will need both the exchange order and the original passport associated with the order to redeem the actual JR Pass. The pass can be redeemed at the JR Pass Ticket Offices located in airports and local stations

I'm confused...what dates should I put in the calendar when booking?

The date you select when booking is the date of your departure to Japan. If you intend to pick up your Exchange Order at the pick up counters, please note the counter opening hours. For Exchange Order deliveries, mailing will take 7 business days (holidays are not counted)

I would like to change from X JR Pass to Y JR Pass, how can I do this?

Unfortunately, you can not change from X JR Pass to Y JR Pass. Please make sure you select the correct JR Pass before checking out

I haven't received my confirmation yet! Help!

  • Depart to Japan 3 months from booking date: Confirmations may sometimes require up to 24 hours to process due to security verification. If your booking has not been confirmed after 24 hours, please contact us via Ask Klook
  • Depart to Japan more than 3 months from booking date: Your exchange voucher will be confirmed and issued 3 months before your departure date

I would like to book a pass for XXX date, but this day does not show up on your calendar. What should I do?

Dates that are grayed out are not yet available for purchase

Is it possible to collect the exchange order (MCO) today?

Same day bookings are not possible. Bookings must be made at least 3-6 business days in advance. Please be sure that you have enough time to pick up or receive your exchange voucher before departing for Japan

How do I pick up my JR pass?

Please note that JR Rail has many separate entities such as JR East, JR Central, JR Hokkaido, etc. Depending on the pass you buy, you will have to go to that specific company’s office to redeem your pass. The JR Rail Pass is only issued domestically in Japan. When you order on Klook, you will have the exchange order (MCO) sent to your account before arriving in Japan. Once you have arrived in Japan, you will exchange the exchange order (MCO) for the actual rail pass at an official JR Rail Office (located at most major airports and rail stations in Japan)

I ordered the pass on the Klook website or app, but have not received an exchange voucher yet. When will it come?

  • Depart to Japan 3 months from booking date: Confirmations may sometimes require up to 24 hours to process due to security verification. If your booking has not been confirmed after 24 hours, please contact us via Ask Klook. Exchange voucher will be delivered to you within 3-6 business days.
  • Depart to Japan more than 3 months from booking date: Your exchange voucher will be confirmed and delivered to you 3 months before your departure date
